Taramps DS 440x4 Car Audio Amplifier

This thing is SMALL. Like about the size of a CD case. Puts out great clean power that rivals amps much bigger. However, know what you are buying here. This amp has virtually no signal processing. It does have a HP/AP/LP filter, but there is no cutoff adjustment. That'"'"'s means you have to have good upstream processing from either a DSP or Aftermarket head unit that gives you good control with equalizers and crossovers built in. Otherwise it sounds very "raw." It puts out what you put into it. Many of the other more expensive amps have a lot of adjustments you can make, making them more suitable to just casually dropping into your car. This strips all those fancy signal processing features to make it tiny and inexpensive, assuming you will have those features elsewhere.

I’ll be honest — I didn’t expect this much out of such a compact amp. Hooked it up to a set of JBL 6x9s and they got LOUD. Crystal clear, clean power, and it stays cool while doing it. No fake numbers here — this thing delivers exactly what it says and then some. The footprint is tiny, the install was simple, and it pushes real power without killing my electrical. For the size, price, and performance, I couldn’t be more impressed. If you’re on the fence, don’t be — this little thing is a monster.

I'"'"'m running this amp to my highs and honestly right off the bat, I was shocked at how small the amp is. It had me a little scared of how the power would be out of it but this thing is great! The small size of it makes it nice to be able to tuck away and not be taking away space from anywhere to have it. The sound quality is nice and clear, and I'"'"'m only running it at around 60-70 watts. Only thing I would say is don'"'"'t go to big on the wiring kit. Maybe keep it to around a 10 gauge kit because the connections are somewhat small.

For the size and cost WOW!!! I have this in my work van. Its running channels 1 and 2 stereo at 2 ohms and a 8" Rockville in a ported box Channel 3 and 4 Bridged at 4 ohms. I'"'"'m using hipass on 1 and 2 low pass on 3 and 4. Williston audio labs on you tube dynode this amp. It does what is says it does.

item itself has a very small footprint, at first i was like what did i just buy. I was small enough i was able to fit it under my radio in the dash. After install i was satisfied with sound. i ran into some clipping issues but i can not blame that on the amp at least not as of yet.

Tiny little thing that delivers a punch! Sounds good for 99% of setups, unless you'"'"'re a audiophile with an ultra quiet car, you'"'"'ll never hear the subtleties in the difference of a car amp A/B Vs D class. So take the advantage of it being so small, lightweight and powerful!
